Lecturer - GCSE & FS English

GCSE & FS English Lecturer – .7 fixed term.

Lewisham College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of English Lecturer to join our team.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes, predominantly L1 FS &/or GCSE English language, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

Successful applicants will have significant experience of teaching English to young people (14-19).

The candidate must be qualified to degree level or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, English and mathematics qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.  It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE &/or secondary school, and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines and strong oral and written communication skills are essential requirements. The hours of work may include evenings and weekends, according to demand and on agreement.
