Lecturer in Animation (T&R or T&S) - UOD1699
You will contribute to the development of the teaching, scholarship and research agendas, philosophy and strategies of the institution. Possessing considerable knowledge of the subject domain, you should be a team player, as well as demonstrating commitment and drive. You will enable students to develop and enhance their capacity to nurture their creative development and understanding in animation as a core creative practice, and to engage at an international level with peers in the creative industries and Higher Education. You will be expected to support colleagues in the strategic development of the core discipline.
Your priorities will include:- Play an active role in the organisation, preparation, delivery and assessment of modules with a particular focus on Animation more widely. You will contribute to programme delivery and assessment across all years at undergraduate level and at postgraduate level as required, and co-ordinate other staff who may be delivering on the modules. You may also be expected to make a contribution to modules that are shared with students on other courses.
- Contribute to the strategic development of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and initiatives in Animation within the Communication Design portfolio to ensure the courses remain relevant and innovative.
- Develop, lead and participate in research projects associated with Animation (T&R).
- Play an active part in the Quality Assurance procedures associated with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and in periodic quality reviews associated with these programmes.
- Engage with colleagues across the University and in the design industry, nationally and internationally to further the potential for collaboration, employment opportunities and graduate recruitment.
Who we're looking for:- Extensive knowledge of theory and practice in 3D Animation.
- A good understanding of student learning needs and the ability to plan challenging and innovative learning activities at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Evidence of a body of critical research practice, or of industry practice that could be developed into a body
of research. (T&R)
- The ability to motivate students and colleagues and to work as part of a team to meet University goals.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills enabling the development of effective working relationships with students and colleagues.
