As the<br/><br/>Lecturer in Boatbuilding,<br/><br/>you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning in Boatbuilding and Composite subject areas to Bournemouth and Poole College students.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Boatbuilding will include:
Teach on courses as agreed with the Learning Manager across Marine / Boat Building
Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum
Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning
Organise and participate in relevant visits, enrichment visits, ship visits, and liaise with external organisations to enhance the learner experience.
Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews
Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank for the relevant subject/course
Internal verification
Act as a Personal Tutor to students, full time students/apprentices
Representing the College at internal and external events and meetings including student recruitment, admissions, and open events.
As our Lecturer in Boatbuilding, youll<br/><br/>ideally have:
Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years
Boatbuilding level 3 qualification or 3 years minimum industry experience in a Boatbuilding (Carpentry / Composites) role
A proven record of delivering teaching, learning and assessment to a consistently high standard either in a college or work setting by supporting apprentices
Relevant industrial experience within a technical Boatbuilding (Carpentry / Composites) role
Industry experience in the Boatbuilding and/or Composite industry
Microsoft Office applications, and the dexterity to use and learn new software
Excellent communication skills including written and verbal
Innovative, forward thinking
Flexible, adaptable and resilient, able to work with students of all ages
Attendance at college events i.e., open evenings/weekends including outside of normal working hours
