We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Criminology Lecturer to join our Sixth Form team at Central St Michaels Campus. This full-time, fixed-term post starts in September 2025 and continues until July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering and developing engaging Criminology courses while supporting students to achieve their best. You will take on teaching and personal tutoring responsibilities, ensuring a high-quality learning experience. Collaborating with colleagues and external partners, you will contribute to curriculum development and continuously work to improve teaching standards. Embracing digital learning tools, you will enhance course delivery and help create a dynamic and supportive environment for students to thrive. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for a passionate and experienced educator with a strong track record of delivering A-Level courses in Criminology. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching A Levels, internal verification/moderation, and a solid understanding of key skills/functional skills. Experience as a personal tutor and/or A-Level examiner would be advantageous.

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

Accepted Qualifications:
  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).

Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
  • PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
