About the role

We are looking to appoint one new Lecturer to lead and teach core and optional modules and to develop new options for the BA Education, Culture and Society degree programme. The appointee will make a significant contribution to the development and teaching of the BA Education, Culture and Society. You will lead and support modules related to education policy and politics, quantitative research methods, and other modules as needed. You will support students in their transition to higher education, progression through their degree and career development through personal tutoring. In addition, you will keep up to date with research in your specialist area and making links between your specialist interests and cognate interests elsewhere in UCL and contribute to a range of other research and enterprise activities as appropriate, including bids for funded research.

About you

The successful candidate will have a relevant doctorate in Education or in a cognate discipline in the social sciences or humanities. You will have evidence of a strong background in teaching in the field of Education and/or related areas in the social sciences or humanities. In addition, you will a proven track record of teaching successfully at higher education level, have the ability to bring innovation and research into teaching and curriculum development and design at all levels, and a proven track record of involvement in research and production of high-quality publications.
