Job Purpose: The Lecturer in Education will work closely with the Post-Primary and Research Teams ensuring the provision of the quality of the student experience .

The Lecturer in Education role will be supported by a range of academic and administrative support staff in addition to a sizeable academic adjunct faculty.

Key Job Responsibilities: Promote and sustain the mission and values of the College including a learning outcomes culture Take responsibility for the development, growth, and success of the programme
- academic and professional Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programme including managing the annual self-evaluation process and the (re) accreditation of programme Liaise and work closely with other members of the Post-Primary team Oversee and co-ordinate the work of the Foundation Studies modules Demonstrate flexibility in working in a cross-disciplinary model across a range of modules Supervise students on School Placement Supervise student-teacher dissertations Collaborate with academic administration and learning services in monitoring, reviewing and development of modules Grade, second mark, and moderate student work Key Job Requirements: Essential Qualified Post-Primary teacher with a minimum of 8 years' teaching experience in Ireland Minimum qualification must be at level 9 (Masters in Education or related discipline) Proactive, flexible and adaptive Excellent knowledge of the Post-Primary School Curriculum Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organised with a track record in the education sector, teacher education, or education leadership and management relevant to the role Have a proven track record in the education sector, teacher education, or education leadership and management relevant to the role Be knowledgeable of recent policy developments in the education sector and in teacher education; Be a capable and confident communicator with a very strong personal presence and a proven ability to rapidly respond to and manage change Be an experienced people manager with proven ability to lead and develop teams Be a strong team player who is self-motivating, enthused by change and able to proactively respond to a wide range of challenges Desirable: Be qualified to PhD level and be research active Be an active member of committees, forums, national bodies and or working groups relevant to the role Be experienced in the management and or delivery of programmes of teacher education and the de-sign and management of assessment Be experienced in managing dispersed teams Closing date for receipt of applications on 11th October 2024.
