Job Title:                 Lecturer in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Salary:                     From £28,419 - £41,874 per annum, subject to progression
                                  criteria*
                                *The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the                                                     Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and                                                       maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified
                                   Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To
                                   progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary
                                   scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain
                                   the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).  

Contract:                 MC Lecturer, Full Time, Permanent  

Hours:                    37 hours per week

Teaching Hours:   864 per annum

Annual Leave:        45 days per annum, plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension:                  Teachers’ Pension  

About the College

• Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008.  It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.

About the role 

The main responsibilities of the role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Electrical & Electronics Engineering across a range of levels.  Delivery for the role may be a mixture of classroom and workshop based.

The successful candidate will:  

• To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
• To hold a minimum of a Level 5 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Desirable – Current knowledge and / or experience of teaching in one or more fields of Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Evidence of disseminating good practice effectively.
