Position: Lecturer in Equine Studies
Salary: Lecturer Spine - Band A2, £27,238 - £33,487 per annum
Location: Moulton, Northamptonshire

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Equine Studies to join our growing curriculum area. This popular course combines a first-class learning experience with our extensive practical facilities on the College estate and the expert knowledge of our staff team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and train students and other client groups to the quality standards set by the college.
  • Tutor and manage one or more courses or groups of students.
  • Develop our equine courses.
  • Teach on other animal courses if required.
  • Participate in internal moderation, auditing, and other quality monitoring processes to ensure exemplary service for learners, customers, and clients.

Practical Resources

Our equestrian students benefit from a range of fantastic practical resources, including:

  • A 60m x 40m indoor riding arena with spectator seating and judges area.
  • Stabling for up to 30 horses.
  • An outdoor riding arena.
  • A cross-country course.
  • An Equine Hydrotherapy Centre.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ideally hold a BHS Stage 3 Complete Horsemanship or equivalent coaching qualification.
  • Previous experience in practical groom/competition care and coaching.
  • Broad knowledge and practical experience in the Equine sector.
  • Excellent knowledge base in Equine Health, Fitness, and Yard Management.
  • Experience and confidence in working with young people of varying abilities.
  • Ideally hold a degree-level qualification in this field, although industry experience is equally relevant.
  • Must hold or be willing to work towards and achieve a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent).
