Role Overview
The role involves delivering BTEC Level 3 qualifications in Games Design, with opportunities to contribute to higher education courses, including a top-up degree. Teaching experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided. The role aims to equip learners with technical skills aligned with industry practices in areas such as graphic and lens, text, experience, sound, moving image, and character and environment design.
Main Responsibilities
Learning & Teaching
- Deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support learners’ needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to encourage student engagement and autonomy.
- Develop inclusive learning resources incorporating emerging technologies.
- Foster a motivating and respectful learning environment.
- Provide opportunities for learners to understand industry applications of their skills.
- Support students in developing practical portfolios for assessment.
Assessment
- Develop and apply fair and effective assessment methods.
- Promote self-assessment and peer review.
- Ensure assessment processes align with internal and external verification standards.
- Maintain accurate records of learners’ progress.
Professional Values & Practice
- Highlight the role of learning in personal and professional development.
- Engage in continuous professional development and share best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with organizational standards.

Essential:
- Relevant industry experience.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject.
- PGCE, DTTLS, or Certificate in Education (or willingness to obtain one).
- Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent Level 2) in English and Mathematics.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching BTEC subjects at different levels.
- Current knowledge of industry practices.
Additional Information
- The role requires an enhanced DBS check.
- Some flexibility, including occasional Saturday hours, may be required.
- Ability to deliver online teaching if necessary.
