LCK Academy offers an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated lecturer to assist in making our Academy an outstanding provider of Higher National Diplomas (HND) in Hospitality Management and Business. We are looking for committed people who are passionate about working in an aspirational and high performing academy, dedicated to facilitating an outstanding learning experience for students.

This role requires the development of teaching materials for, and the delivery of, one or more of the HND units. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to use their experience, knowledge and skills to engage, inspire and guide students towards high academic achievement in the field of Hospitality Management or Business (Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management).

You will need to have experience teaching HND courses and/or relevant university level courses. The person selected for this role will need to have a Masters in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification or agree to start working towards one. Industry experience is desirable.

You will need to have recent experience of teaching and be able to teach both theory and practice effectively. You will have experience of meeting the needs of learners and expectations of a higher education team, including the requirements of awarding bodies and our partners. You will have excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and report on your unit, using methods and materials appropriate to the students and unit/course content.
  • Prepare appropriate teaching materials.
  • Identify the needs of students and adapt delivery styles to meet these needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and assess students’ progress.
  • Provide timely and developmental feedback on formative and summative submissions.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork, including student reports and feedback reports on unit assignments, are submitted by the deadline.
  • Attend relevant induction and tutor training meetings.
  • Engage with continuous professional development.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE / PGCHE) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience teaching students at this level in the relevant subject area.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Available and willing to work weekends.
