Working Hours: Full time 37 hours 
Salary: £25,611 - £46,263 pro rata, per annum (dependent on qualified teacher status)

We are excited to announce we are now looking for a Lecturer in Music to join our Performing Arts department, reporting into the Head of Section. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role covering December 2024 to December 2025. 


Key Responsibilities

As part of this role you will take a lead on delivering RSL Level 2 & 3 Creative Music Industry courses in line with the college’s aims and objectives for this area’s curriculum plan. You will work closely with management, colleagues and students to ensure success for both the college and students. Your confidence and excellent communication skills will also ensure a great partnership with our stakeholders too. 

This is a great opportunity for an individual with previous experience in teaching vocational Music Performance courses to help shape the future of our department. You will be leading tutorship on the Music Performance pathway and sharing your experience and knowledge to develop learners’ musicianship and professional development, creating opportunities for students, including work experience and collaborating with colleagues in delivering a programme of live performances, events and recording sessions in our state-of-the-art studio. You will be highly motivated, well organised, have great interpersonal skills and an ability to engage, motivate and support mixed ability learners.  Experience of assessment, standardisation and Internal Verification processes are also key to this role.  A flexible approach to contracted working hours will enable you to facilitate weekly open mic nights, and other live events across the year.
 
 


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Previous academic experience in Music would be fantastic, along with a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above). We will also consider someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this qualification and has experience of working within the Music Industry which would be relatable to the areas we teach. We are looking for individuals who can inspire our students with passion and enthusiasm.
