To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Psychology or Applied Psychology, within the Department of Psychology. The Department of Psychology is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record of applied psychology provision that includes innovative teaching and learning, scholarly activity, research, practice and knowledge transfer activities.

As a Lecturer in Psychology/Applied Psychology you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching that is underpinned by scholarly activity and practice. We are keen to receive applications from people who will enhance our delivery of and reputation in reputation in applied psychology, particularly Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, and Sport & Exercise Psychology. although expertise in other related areas is welcomed. Applicants should hold a doctoral qualification in psychology, and be eligible for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. We particularly welcome applications from people who are HCPC Registered Psychologists and who are eligible for Chartership with the British Psychological Society.

Lecturers are expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing modules, supervision, and the enhancement of the student experience across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These include BPS accredited BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology, MSc Forensic Psychology and three BPS accredited/HCPC approved Doctorates in Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology and Sport & Exercise Psychology. Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and/or in practice settings is essential. The Department of Psychology promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to ensuring curricula are current and compliant with internal and external regulatory frameworks.
