About the role:

As the Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Services, you will deliver high-quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and Poole College students Level 1-3 Sports& UPS. The post holder will also act as a personal tutor to students.

Based at our Lansdowne Campus, this department comprises of four areas: Business, Tourism Sport & Uniformed Public Services. It provides a wide variety of courses from level 1 to 3 for 16-18 and adult students.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Services will include:

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of all our Sport an Uniformed Public Services courses
  • Contributing to high-quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods based on current best available practice
  • Creating an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures
  • Participating in the College's appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate

As our Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Services, you'll ideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
  • Minimum Level 3 or Graduate (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area such as level 3 BTEC Sports or Uniformed Public Services
  • Experience facilitating learning for students in Further or Higher Education or an appropriate workplace setting, for example school
  • Current evidence-based practice in Uniformed Public Services and Sports & Fitness
  • Knowledge of issues relating to equal opportunities and cultural diversity
