We are looking

to recruit a Health and Social Care and Psychology teacher and tutor to join our organised and supportive team. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of the Health or Social care sector and will have a passion to pass on this knowledge to the students that they teach. This experience is required in order to bring examples into your teaching to engage students on our level 2 and 3 Courses as well as advising and supporting students with their next steps. The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills and the patience to support students to achieve. They will also have a passion for pastoral and academic support of students and be able to mentor and develop students from a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.A teaching qualification or previous experience of teaching is essential.

The teaching is timetabled for Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s and includes the following:
  • Level 3 Health and Social Care (OCR CTEC) – Units: Dementia, Mental health.
  • Level 2 Health and Social Care (NCFE Cache) – Assignment support.
  • Level 3 Applied Psychology (BTEC) – Exam based units.

This position will suit an enthusiastic and engaging professional, who enjoys working with young people, and who wishes to contribute to a successful and inspirational curriculum team. The successful candidate will have a desire for passing on skills, knowledge and vocational experience in a rewarding further education environment.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
  • Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
  • To deliver formal scheduled teaching duties, tutorials (as appropriate) and student assessment.
  • To record, share and regularly monitor student progress using College information systems.
  • To prepare learning plans schemes of work, keep relevant records and undertake all administration relevant to teaching duties.
  • To attend parents’ evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Requirements
You will need:
  • Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
  • High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area
  • At least 2 years’ experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (Desirable).
  • Degree in relevant subject (Desirable)
