Lecturer salary- £38,394 - £41,934 per annum

Senior Lecturer salary- £44,477 - £56,292 per annum

Full Time/Fixed Term until September 2027

About the Role

Join our dynamic team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Smart Agricultural Technologies with specific knowledge and expertise in smart agriculture and vertical farming. We are seeking an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge and expertise in smart agricultural technologies and practices, such as vertical farming and precision agriculture. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture by imparting your specialised knowledge to the next generation of agricultural innovators.

You will be passionate about teaching, with the ability to deliver high quality teaching and learning to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will be devising innovative teaching and assessments, seminars and tutorials and you will supervise UG and PG students in their research projects. You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues and industry partners. It is also highly preferable that you can progress quickly to take on the course leadership of our MSc Smart Agriculture programme.

We are looking for an individual with qualifications in Agriculture, Horticulture or Agronomy or a related field and demonstrated expertise in controlled environment agriculture, with a focus on smart agriculture and vertical farming. It would be desirable for the postholder to have experience in the HE sector and essential teaching skills (e.g. using a variety of teaching methods) and commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service activities.
