Lecturer (Teaching) in Advanced Materials Science (AMS) 2 year Fixed
About the role
The IMD wishes to appoint a Two Year Fixed Lecturer(teaching) to contribute to the success of our Advanced Materials Science (AMS) Postgraduate programme. The appointee will support the core teaching and MSc research project supervision and contribute to the existing teaching programme. You will work closely with academics in the Department and contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum. Although the post will be based at UCL East,a substantial number of modules are taught at UCL Bloomsbury campus and the appointee will be expected to work across both sites. The role will include lecture and seminar teaching, student experience and support activity, and personal tutoring. The postholder will be expected to first and second mark assignments and will also be expected to be available for office hours each week as required.
About you
The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant Science/Engineering degree, along with experience in advanced materials characterisation methods and Materials Processing and Synthesis. Knowledge in process, structure, properties, performance correlations in advanced materials is also a requirement. Experience in Teaching materials science at undergraduate or postgraduate level would be desirable. The applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills , strong interpersonal skills and be able to work independently with minimal guidance.
