Lecturer (Teaching) in Creative Health (0.50 FTE, Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are looking for a FTE Lecturer (Teaching) in Creative Health to cover a period of maternity leave between 1 April and 31 March to continue delivery of the Creative Health MASc programme.

The postholder will be involved in the development, co-ordination and delivery of Masters-level (Level 7) modules, with an especial emphasis on (90 credits) module, including assisting with supervising students and marking dissertations. In addition, over the period of this post, the successful candidate may be involved in the following depending on their skillset and teaching need: (15 credits), , and other relevant modules. Exactly which modules the successful candidate will be involved in will be discussed with the Head of Department and other staff on the Creative Health programme.

The postholder will also act as an Academic Personal Tutor and help out at Open Days, pre- and post-offer information sessions and other student recruitment activities.

This post is based at the UCL East campus in Stratford. Some travel between the UCL East and Bloomsbury campuses may be required. This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site, but final working patterns will be determined by teaching support requirements and the Head of Department.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require the right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

The postholder will be educated to Doctoral level in any interdisciplinary area relevant to health, creativity and interdisciplinary research methods, with experience in HE and teaching in creative health and / or, social prescribing / community-based approaches to health and / or arts and health. In addition, they will be required to demonstrate a proven knowledge and understanding of issues in creative health and / or, social prescribing / community-based approaches to health and / or arts and health.

The postholder will also need the ability to deliver education in teaching, curriculum development in creative health and the organisation and management of teaching programmes.

Experience of teaching and curriculum development at postgraduate taught level and the ability to build and sustain relationships with external partners, community organisations, health, social care and policy organisations ( the NHS), professional networks is desirable.

The postholder should also be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy or show a commitment to achieving Fellowship status.
