Harmonic are delighted to be working with an exciting Sports/Gaming software Scale-up in their search for a Machine Learning Researcher to enable further expansion and development. This is a great time to join the business as they enter an exciting period of growth.

The Role

\n

In this position you will work within a team whose primary goal is improving the predictive power of models using fundamental data. This team's role is of utmost importance as the quality of models plays a huge role in the company's success. You will work closely alongside the CEO and CTO on the full life cycle of designing, testing and implementing ML models in python whilst continually improving existing solutions. Due to the small start-up nature of the company this role favors someone hands on who likes to be involved in all aspects of system design, creation and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • \nWork closely with the CEO, CTO and Team lead \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nDesign, test and implement new machine learning models \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nExplore and apply advanced techniques such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, and transfer learning. \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nDevelop and improve the existing learning models \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nResearch methods for specific problem-solving scenarios \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nDevelop feature engineering techniques and optimize data preprocessing pipelines. \n
  • \n
\n

Essential Skills:

    \n
  • \nBroad experience in Machine Learning and Statistics, with the ability to select the right approach for novel problems and understand the trade-offs involved \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nPragmatic and practical approach to research and development, with experience moving ideas from concept to production \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nSkilled in using a variety of ML software frameworks in Python \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nComfortable reading academic papers to inspire and form new research ideas \n
  • \n
\n

Bonus Experience

  • \nRelevant qualifications in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related fields \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nExperience in software development \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nExpertise in optimizing execution speed using Python, Numpy, and Cython \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nExperience Researching state of the art models in industry or academia \n
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • \nProficiency in Unix scripting or experience with Git or other version control systems \n
  • \n
\n

Location: Central London

\n

Salary: £100,000- £180,000 dependent upon experience

\n

Bonus: Generous benefits and discretionary bonus
