About the Role:
Peterborough College is seeking a dynamic and passionate Media Lecturer to join our Creative Arts and Media department starting this September. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of media professionals in a supportive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of media subjects, including but not limited to, digital media production, film studies, photography, and multimedia projects.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the planning and development of engaging and up-to-date course content that meets industry standards and prepares students for higher education and employment.
- Assessment: Monitor, assess, and provide constructive feedback to students, ensuring they meet their learning objectives and achieve their potential.
- Student Support: Offer academic and pastoral support to students, helping them overcome challenges and succeed in their studies.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain and develop strong links with the media industry to enhance student learning experiences and ensure curriculum relevance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the department and across the college to ensure the delivery of a coherent and coordinated learning experience.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Media, Film, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience teaching media subjects at FE/HE level.
- Strong knowledge of current media trends and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in the media industry.
- Familiarity with the latest digital media technologies and software.
