PhD Administrator
About the role
The Division of Biosciences is looking to appoint an experienced Administrator to join the Postgraduate Research (PhD) team. This team is responsible for providing administrative support for the PhD student lifecycle within the division. The post holder's main focus will be to deliver a high quality service to staff and students including replying to enquiries within set time frames, assisting with student recruitment, monitoring student progression and graduation.
The PhD Administrator will provide high-quality administrative support for hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically with 2 set days in the office and other days WFH. The Administrator will report to the Deputy Doctoral Training and CDD Manager and will work closely with other administrators in the Postgraduate research student team, as well as academic leads, and colleagues in Biosciences and central UCL administration including the Graduate Admissions Office and the Registry Research Degrees team.

About you
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and proactive administrator with a friendly and professional approach. Recent experience in student administration, in either Higher Education or the private sector is preferred. You will have the confidence to deal with a range of enquiries from students, academic and administrative colleagues and you will be a helpful and supportive team member, happy to seek advice, share information and participate in regular team meetings.
You should be able to organise and prioritise, working to deadlines and targets, sometimes under pressure, with good time management and excellent attention to detail. You will also be able to demonstrate flexibility and readiness when faced with new challenges. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, databases and other software platforms is essential.
