We partner with global leaders in government, academia, and the private sector to identify applications that would benefit from quantum-based applications to current and future commercial challenges.Residencies at SandboxAQIf you’re a graduate student in STEM ready to bring the new AI + Quantum era to the world, consider joining our residency program at SandboxAQ.We are currently looking for PhD or Postdoc students in a wide variety of STEM fields — physics, computer science, AI, neuroscience, chemistry, cryptography, mathematics/statistics, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, geophysics, and more — to join our world-class team of engineers, scientists and technologists.The Sandbox team is looking for a Research Scientist to help functionalize the next generation of cryptographic systems. A successful candidate will be comfortable with Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) such as Differential Privacy, Zero-Knowledge Proofs, Multi-Party Computation and Fully Homomorphic Encryption.Core ResponsibilitiesResearch and design new Privacy-Enhancing TechnologiesWork closely with the engineering team to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolioImplement and validate innovative PET constructions and/or protocolsCollaborate on implementations of innovative privacy-preserving ML constructions and/or protocolsMinimum QualificationsStrong background in Privacy-Enhancing Technologies: Trusted execution enclaves, confidential computing, differential privacy, zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation or fully-homomorphic encryption.Deep understanding of cryptographic protocolsFamiliarity with PQC and privacy-preserving MLPreferred QualificationsCompetency with C, C++, Rust and/or machine learning frameworksKnowledge of formal methods applied to cryptographic implementationsExperience contributing to open source projectsDetailsLocation: RemoteStart date: January 2025Duration: 1 year for residencies; 2 years for postdocs with potential extensionWhat to ExpectWork on a technical project with scientists and engineers on one of our core teamsEngagement with fellow residentsCompetitive compensationPresent findings to the rest of Sandbox AQHave fun!SandboxAQ welcomes all.
