Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Cyber-Risk Impact Awareness Scanning Tool (Cyber RIAST)
A Postdoctoral Research Associate Position (PDRA) is available from 1st January 2025 for 12 months will conduct research for a fully jointly funded cyber-security for UK future sustainable energy network project by Scottish Power Energy Network (SPEN) and National Grid (NG). The aim of Cyber-RIAST project is to investigate suitable methods solution and develop a cyber risk impact awareness scanning software tool with all essential cyber risk impact analysis functions for UK electricity networks against advanced cyber-attacks, so as to intervene in cyber-attacks from their infancy and avoid the impact of cascading the cyber threats. The scopes of the project are (i) conducting power network resilient analysis, (ii) Assessing cyber system vulnerability and (iii) Carrying out cyber risk impact analysis of the actual loss of physical components on the power systems. Cyber-RIAST solutions should be able to distinguish between equipment failure, plant faults, extreme weather impacts and cyber-attacks.
