PostDoc Development Engineer - Energy Storage

We’re on the lookout for a Development Engineer. This is likely to be a Chemical or Mechanical Engineer who has recently finished their PhD and wants to develop their career within a small (but growing!) R&D team in industry, scaling up technology and bringing their engineering strengths to the team.
The Role:
- Joining a multi-disciplinary development team, provide Development expertise and support to Polymer and Electrochemistry Research Scientists
- Lead projects focused on improving the technology
- Lead validation of new technology, including scale-up and implementation into new prototypes
- Develop creative solutions to improve a prototype’s KPIs
- Generate new prototype concepts and carry out experiments to support their development
- Be an active interface between the Research and Prototype Development teams
Must Haves:
- PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Demonstrable hands-on engineering skillset, with an understanding of chemical systems and manufacturing processes
- Process Development and optimisation experience, within pilot-line manufacturing
- Experience scaling up technology and increasing TRL
- Project Management experience
- Start-up mentality
- Experience with batteries, supercapacitors or similar is preferred
- Happy to work on-site

- Depending on your level of experience, £40k -£60k
