A full-time postdoctoral position in environmental physiology is available in the lab of Dr. Michael Berenbrink (University of Liverpool) in the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Behaviour as part of a Leverhulme funded project in collaboration with soil scientist Prof. Mark Hodson at the University of York and hydrologists Drs Megan Klaar and Tom Willis at the University of Leeds. You will use laboratory analyses to explore the oxygen transport properties of earthworm haemoglobins as part of evaluating threats to earthworm diversity due to flooding. This will involve developing new experimental approaches, running assays, and analysing the resulting data in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and the wider project team. You should have a PhD in Animal Physiology, Ecology or Environmental Sciences or another relevant area. Expertise in laboratory techniques is essential. Experience in protein purification and functional characterization is desirable. Salary £39,105 - £45,164 PAClosing date 31/01/2025hours Full Time
