The post is funded by NovoNordisk. Find out more about the russell research and group at: About you Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology or a relevant subject area, ( or be close to completion ) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry (including but not limited to compound optimisation for in vivo proof of concept studies) and de novo drug design/ development as well as at least two of asymmetric synthesis, chemical biology, amnio acid chemistry, nucleotide chemistry, sugar/amino sugar chemistry. Expertise in modern organic synthesis and a strong working knowledge of medicinal mhemistry. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will test hypotheses and analyses scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.
