Postdoctoral Researcher

A London-based university is seeking a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher to join their internationally acclaimed Sustainability Research team on a contract basis. This exceptional role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative research that bridges academia and real-world application, driving meaningful advancements in sustainability. The post holder will be involved in writing successful research bid applications to secure new funding streams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop research proposals and secure funding from national and international funding bodies
• Conduct high-quality, innovative research in sustainability science, contributing to the institute’s strategic objectives
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the university and external partners
• Mentor early-career researchers and contribute to the institute’s teaching and knowledge exchange activities

About You

The successful candidate must have:

• A PhD in a sustainability-related discipline
• Demonstratable experience writing successful research bid applications
• A collaborative mindset and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Role information:

Salary: £60,000 (salaries above may be considered dependent on experience)

Contract type: Interim contract

Length of contract: 6 months (progressing to a longer term contract)

Location: London

Flexible working – 1 day per week on site with 4 days working from home
