Postdoctoral Researcher
Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the project, 'Overcoming Societal Tensions in Europe: Can Age Diverse Friendships be the Solution?'.
Are you a passionate quantitative researcher with a background in social, organisational or developmental psychology and an interest in age and ageing?
This exciting opportunity is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation and investigates how intergenerational friendships at work can foster cooperation and tolerance within Europe's diverse society.
Salary: £34,909 rising to £39,746 per annum – part time at 28 hours a week

As Postdoctoral Researcher you will play a crucial role in our international research project and will:
- Support the research project on age-diverse friendships in collaboration with partner universities.
- Plan and conduct empirical studies in social and organisational psychology.
- Develop networks to collect data from organisations, via student research projects and other avenues.
- Perform statistical data analysis using SPSS, Mplus, or R on a range of data types, including multi-level, dyadic and social network data.
- Collaborate with scholars and PhD students to complete project tasks.
- Present research findings at international conferences and publish in scientific journals.
- Teach and supervise students.
- Prepare funding proposals.
The ideal Postdoctoral Researcher will:
- Possess a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
- Have strong knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistics, including SPSS.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Have experience in contributing to research and an interest in age-diverse friendships.

Salary and benefits:
£34,909 rising to £39,746 per annum (actual) 0.8FTE, (with a pro-rated FTE of £43,636 to £49,683). Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance. Contract:
