Postgraduate Student Administrator (MSc and MRes)

The Department of Physics is seeking a Postgraduate Student Administrator to join the fast-paced Physics Education Office supporting the MSc and MRes programmes and to assist the undergraduate team. The postholder will enhance the experience of our students and staff alike and will be integral to the smooth running of the programmes.


  • You will be part of the Physics Education office assisting the MSc and MRes programme.
  • You will analyse programme admissions data on a regular basis.
  • You will accurately communicate admissions decisions to the admissions team and to applicants.
  • You will act as an intermediary between College Registry Admissions Team, prospective students, Programme Directors and others.
  • You will participate in open days, support marketing initiatives and represent physics at recruitment fairs and other events.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Departmental education web pages.

  • You will need to be educated to an A-level standard or have equivalent experience.
  • You have administrative experience working in a Higher Education environment.
  • You have a good understanding of student system and Registry procedures.
  • You are able to use your initiative, prioritise your workload and can work effectively without supervision.
  • You will have a high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail.
