Postgraduate Teaching Coordinator

As Postgraduate Teaching Coordinator, you will be one of two senior course administrators ensuring the effective running of the MSc Course, comprising face-to-face and online teaching. The post holder will provide high quality, specialist administrative support for all matters relating to students; from enquiry to graduation, with an in-depth knowledge of all processes, including all aspects relating to assessment, as well as student and course records. As the team expands, you will manage all aspects of one ‘Part’ of the MSc in Oncology, supporting the life cycle of MSc students and ensuring continuous improvement. There will be two Postgraduate Teaching Coordinators: one for each of Part A and Part B of the MSc course. The team is also supported by a course assistant.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have experience of higher education course administration, preferably with postgraduate courses, including using a virtual learning environment such as Canvas. You will have excellent IT skills with the ability to manage your time and workload to ensure high quality teaching is delivered on a weekly basis. Attention to detail will be key, particularly when working with timetables, assessments and student data. It is essential that the post holder is an effective communicator with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with the range of stakeholders involved in this unique course.

The MSc Course Team (Registry) provides administrative support and policy expertise for the operation of the ICR’s postgraduate taught degree programme. They run the top ranking taught postgraduate course according to the 2023 PTES (national student survey), with 97% of students satisfied with the overall quality of their course. It also ranked highest of the 118 participating HEIs in Teaching, Engagement, Community and Organisation.

The wider Registry team also leads on the enhancement of the student experience and the management of strategic education collaborations. 

The role of the broader Academic Services directorate is to create an efficient and effective environment for the ICR’s scientific community to flourish. Our services underpin both research and education at the ICR.
