About the Role

The Institute of Health and Allied Health Professions at Nottingham Trent University is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Principal Lecturer in Healthcare Practice Learning to lead and shape our multi-professional practice learning portfolio. The Department has a comprehensive suite of undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship programmes specialising in nursing, paramedic sciences, and occupational therapy (starting in January ).

Working closely with course placement leads and placement administrators you will oversee the placement management process liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will make a significant contribution to the quality of practice learning and possess a comprehensive understanding of professional and regulatory requirements of educational healthcare practice provision to maximise student success and experience. You will be the primary senior contact for our practice placement partners and central to maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with existing and new placement provider partners. You will also help to develop new relationships that will enable us to expand and develop our provision and partnerships.

As Principal Lecturer for Practice Learning in Healthcare, you’ll make a positive strategic contribution to developing an innovative and engaging practice learning experience for students at NTU. You will hold a key role in the Department Leadership Team and will have responsibility for the line management of some staff in the Department.

We're seeking to appoint an experienced individual, with a relevant Masters degree and current UK professional healthcare registration, who is passionate about practice learning for healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and previous experience in leadership and management. You will have a good understanding of current and evolving clinical, professional, and policy developments in Higher Education and specifically, practice learning.

You will be a highly motivated, innovative individual with a strong record of supporting and engaging with practice learning. We are looking for a self-starter, though team-focused, with a flexible approach and demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be an excellent communicator, with evidence of experience in supporting learners in the clinical setting and committed to ensuring excellence in practice learning for all our learners. Previous experience establishing placements for Higher Education providers and simulation-based education experience in clinical or educational settings would be advantageous, although not essential. You will be willing to continue developing your scholarly, practice, or academic research profile
