Professor in Neuroscience
The School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences is seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent Professor to pursue an ambitious research programme in affective, cognitive, developmental, clinical or applied neuroscience. We particularly welcome candidates whose research area will complement our research strengths in mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan, in areas such as: healthy and pathological ageing; child and adolescent development and psychopathology; nutrition, diet and physical activity; chronic, neurodevelopmental, and neurodegenerative health conditions. We also encourage candidates with interdisciplinary research agendas, who have an interest in developing brain imaging or analysis methods or whose research will benefit from the unique multimodal human neuroscience capabilities of the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN).
This position is available on a full-time (or part-time) permanent basis from 1st September 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience or related discipline
2. Be internationally recognised for their neuroscience research in affective, cognitive, developmental, clinical or applied neuroscience and will have a track record of significant grant funding (particularly that supporting MRI/fMRI research) with high-quality publications and ambitious plans to continue to grow their programme of research.
3. Have research and leadership skills commensurate with a senior academic position.
4. Have extensive experience of delivery of excellent research-led Teaching & Learning at UG and PG levels, impacting positively on the student experience/outcomes
