Research Assistant/ Associate in Advance Structural Health Monitoring

The post is funded by UKRI project, AVATAR. The successful candidate will have the opportunity of working within one of the world leading research groups on . The research will be part of a H2020 European project for digital twining for transformative air vehicle with IoT sensors. The post is for 12 months.


The researcher will be working as part of a team in the project, they specifically will be developing Internet of Things (IoT) sensing technologies based on state of the art manufacturing (direct to write, printing) and miniaturisation, as well as advanced signal processing for both active and passive structural health monitoring (SHM).


  • Experience in SHM for both metallic and Composite structure
  • Design and manufacturing of sensors
  • Experimental testing (material characterisation, mechanical testing, NDT)
  • Previous Research experience and track record of good publications
