Research Assistant/ Associate in Asynchronous Communication Circuits and Systems

Publicerad 2024-09-26

The successful applicant will join the University of Manchester as part of the Horizon Europe research project TWIN-RELECT, funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the UK government’s Horizon Europe funding Guarantee. The project brings together 4 partners from across Europe, to enhance networking activities between research institutions of the widening countries and top-class leading counterparts, encompassing joint research, knowledge transfer and exchange of best practices. Research in TWIN-RELECT focuses on the development of a cross-layer methodology for the design of reliable integrated circuits. The proposed methods and associated tool flow can quantify the risks of faults in modern integrated circuits by combining and vertically integrating reliability analysis at different layers, from the semiconductor layer up to the application one through circuit and microarchitectural analysis.

The University of Manchester has a long and distinguished track record in the research and teaching of core Computer Science, and across interfaces to adjacent disciplines. Founded upon the pioneering work of Williams, Kilburn and Turing, the Department was the first academic Department of Computer Science in the UK and one of the first to run an undergraduate programme. The research strength of the school is reflected in consistently strong returns in UK research assessment exercises (5* in RAE 2000, 2nd in Research Power in RAE 2008, and ranked equal 1st for research environment in REF 2014 and REF 2021).
