The role

The school of Natural and enviornmantal sciences are looking to appoint a Research Assistant/Associate in the Circular Economy of Chemicals.

This role will provide the sucessful candidate with the opportunity to work with academics and industry partners in the UKRI National Centre for the Chemical Circular Economy to prepare a roadmap showing the current status and future prospects for the circular economy of olefins (i.e. why and how to get there).

Key actions and milestones of the project will be visually presented to give a holistic view of the chemical industry & related supply chains. The sucessful candidate will also map out the requirements & milestones for drafting new standards & QC testing of materials entering the supply chain, where new products or feedstocks from circular routes replace linear ones. It will also facilitate knowledge exchange between partners to identify areas where the Centre can accelerate progress.

We will publish papers to report on our research findings and guidelines. The outcomes will be disseminated through workshops, press releases and online content to the benefit of wider community.

As part of our commitment to career development for research colleagues, the University has developed 3 levels of research role profiles.  These profiles set out firstly the generic competences and responsibilities expected of role holders at each level and secondly the general qualifications and experiences needed for entry at a particular level.
