Research Assistant in Cancer Metastatic Progression

About the role

The purpose of this post is to investigate the potential effect of a co-polymer on polyglutamylation of microtubules, which plays a fundamental role in cancer invasion and metastasis, focusing on pancreatic and prostate cancer., to develop human translational research that is of high merit, and to develop preliminary data for the submission of highly competitive grant applications to national funding agencies.

This is a Part- time post ( hours per week) funded for 10 months in the first instance.

The postholder will work with the Responsive Oncotherapeutics research group and will be based at the Royal Free Campus of the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science. This post is part of a research programme funded by the Urology foundation, UK.

About you

The post holder must have a Masters degree in a biomedical sciences-related discipline or equivalent experience
Expected to contribute to the prosecution and structuring of the research programme, using their own initiative, within the objectives and time-frame of the project
Be a holder of a valid Home Office personal licence for performing in vivo experimentation
Evaluate and analyse results and prepare data for presentation and publication
must be able to teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
