Research Assistant in Climate Compatible Growth

Smith School, School of Geography and the Environment, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QY The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (SSEE) is a consortium partner in Climate Compatible Growth (CCG), a multi-year, multi-partner research and engagement project funded by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Other UK partners include Loughborough University, University College London, Imperial College London and Cambridge University. CCG undertakes research, knowledge transfer and engagement activities to help developing countries take a path of low-carbon, climate-resilient development whilst simultaneously unlocking profitable investment in green infrastructure, opening up new markets and supporting delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme takes a thematic approach, with work streams clustered around Country Partnerships (CP), International Partnerships (IP) and Programmed Research (PR). SSEE intends to appoint a Research Assistant with a partnership, impact and/or project management background to contribute to the research and engagement activities under WS5c and to support demand-led research focused on CCG client countries. The postholder will also participate actively in the broader research and engagement activities of CCG, and the Smith School more widely.We will recruit a self-starting, proactive and versatile candidate who has a strong background in academic research, a passion for economic development, and a commitment to support CCG’s work to translate academic knowledge into actionable advice, education, and engagement. This post is part-time (50% FTE) and 2 years fixed term starting in November 2024. Extension will depend upon further funding becoming available. We offer very generous benefits, some of which are:
