About the role

This post is an excellent opportunity for an early career researcher keen to progress their career as part of a very strong multidisciplinary team.We are seeking a highly motivated individual to take on the role of research assistant for the National Centre of Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded project:‘Enabling Service Users with Severe Mental Illness to Learn about and Engage (SMILE) with Good Oral Health: Co-production, Feasibility and Acceptability of a Systems intervention’ within the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Institute of Epidemiology & Health Care, UCL.The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team to help conduct the study. The appointed person will have a track record in conducting research on people with mental illness and a good understanding and strong interest in qualitative research methods to help arranging workshops and Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) events, recruiting participants, developing the topic guide, help conducting the workshop, involved in the collection, analysis, and management of qualitative data, developing training materials and writing relevant research papers. .An acceptable DBS check is required to carry out this role.This is a part-time post (40% FTE, hours per week) funded until 31st August .Salary offered is grade 6b 25-26 capped at spine point 26 £38,-£39, inclusive of London Allowance per annum pro rata.

About you

Applicants should have an MSc (or equivalent experience) in public health, epidemiology, population health, health psychology, or a related discipline. You will be able to demonstrate experience/ have strong interest in qualitative data collection and analysis, and effective organisational skills.
