Research Assistant
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to contribute to a research programme to understand the natural history of ATTR cardiomyopathy in our new preclinical model of the disease /ATTR-CM-model), and to ready the model for evaluation of candidate disease-modifying drug treatments. You will assist with management of the colony and experimental groups, including planning of experiments. You will contribute to sample collection and processing, and perform experiments using biochemical assays and histological techniques. The role is available immediately, funded by Alnylam Pharmaceuticals for one year in the first instance, with extension for 3 years planned. About you
You will have a PhD or experience to PhD level in genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related area. A track record of in vivo and laboratory research are highly desirable. Holding a current Home Office personal licence will be a distinct advantage. This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
