We are pleased to offer opportunities to join both the Development Plans and the Digital Planning teams at the City of London. It is an exciting time for both teams. The Policy team is gearing up for the submission of the City Plan and we have received government funding to help advance our digital planning programmes. We are looking to appoint a Planning Officer to help us progress the City of London’s City Plan 2040 and a Research Assistant within the Digital Planning team.

The Digital Planning Team are looking to appoint a motivated, data literate and detail orientated individual to join the team at a transitional time. In line with the national focus towards digitising planning, the Digital Planning team are focussing on use of technology and data across the planning process, including leading on innovative approaches to Digital Local Plans.

This is an exciting time to join the Digital Planning team, as they were awarded funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities across two prestigious funds, focussing around developing the planning department’s digital maturity, as well as developing innovative solutions in visualisation for citizen engagement.

You will also have opportunities to be involved in projects the team are undertaking in enhancing and streamlining their reporting procedures, including use of business intelligence tools.

You will have a strong understanding of the use of data and data structures, with experience of presenting the outcome of analytical approaches to a broad range of stakeholders. You must have the ability to present data analytic outcomes across a variety of presentation methods, including report writing and use of dashboard reporting.

This role is best suited to a critical, analytical thinker, who can approach tasks in a methodical and strategic way, with an awareness of project management techniques to enable projects to be delivered on time. You will have knowledge of the full data analytics lifecycle, including cleansing and maintenance. You must have experience in data analysis techniques, including use of and management of geospatial data, be IT literate, with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
