Proclinical is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the research team. This laboratory-based role focuses on Vector Design to develop and produce DNA vectors for exploratory and pre-clinical research projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn new skills, grow, and contribute to the development of gene therapy vectors aimed at transforming the treatment of serious and debilitating chronic diseases.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop AAV vector genomes and produce data and DNA constructs to support AAV-based gene therapy development.
  • Collaborate with team members, project teams, and external vendors for vector design and production.
  • Stay updated with scientific literature and advancements in the field, promoting and implementing new methods and technologies.
  • Support mutual training and development within the team.
  • Deliver project documentation, reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Present work clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and procedures.
  • Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology, cloning, and DNA manipulation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology software, statistics, omics data, bioinformatics, or programming languages (such as R or Python).
  • Strong critical, scientific, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Adaptable and willing to develop new skills.
  • Good observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Evidence of scientific accomplishments through publications and presentations.
  • Experience interpreting and presenting data to stakeholders.
