Research Associate in Health Services Research and Applied Psychology

Publicerad 2024-11-19

Are you interested in mental health? Do you want your research to support the next generation of medical professionals? Are you keen to conduct work which has immediate, real-world impact?

One in two medical students report high burnout and one in three experience depression. Many stressful experiences for medical students occur on placement, including exposure to dying patients and death, fear over making medical errors and dilemmas about patient care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Research Associate (Grade 6) to support delivery of the first randomised controlled trial of a cognitive-behavioural based psychological intervention designed to prepare medical students for the stressful events they will encounter on their placements. You will work closely with the project Principal Investigator to undertake a wide range of duties to support study delivery as part of this prestigious trial funded by the Medical Protection Society. You will help with project organization, gaining project approvals, timeline management, stakeholder engagement, participant recruitment, data collection, data management, data analysis and project reporting. You will be an experienced researcher with skills in quantitative and qualitative research and a keenness to learn about trials methodology.

The post is available on a full-time basis for 24 months from 1st February 2025. There will be opportunity for hybrid and flexible working.
