Research Associate in Organometallic Chemistry Job Type: Full-Time. Starting Salary: £48056 - £51885 per annum plus benefits To find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the role A Research Associate position is available at Imperial College London in Dr Oriol Planass group, to work on the EPSRC-funded project "Cooperative Noble Base Metal Catalysis". This project will focus on the study of heterobimetallic species and their organometallic reactivity, with the ultimate goal of developing sustainable catalytic processes based on Earth-abundant elements. What you would be doing You will conduct research on the development and application of cooperative systems based on low-valent main group compounds and base metal complexes, with the goal of developing new catalytic systems. You will be expected to design experiments, analyse the experimental data and report it in the form of conference presentations and research papers. What we are looking for We are looking for a candidate holding, or near completion of, a PhD in Chemistry or a related field. They should provide evidence of expertise in organometallic synthesis, catalysis and main group chemistry, including handling of air-sensitive species. A proven track record of published research in low-valent main group compounds is highly desirable. Self-motivation, an ability to lead a project and excellent research management and interpersonal skills are essential.
