Research Associate in Particle Physics
Imperial College London invites applications for a Research Associate to to lead an experimental programme to develop the next-generation XLZD Rare Event Observatory for dark matter searches and neutrino physics.
You will conduct innovative R&D to further enhance the sensitivity of liquid xenon detectors to various physics signals and contribute to the development of the XLZD experiment. You will participate in LZ, the current-generation experiment operating at the Sanford Lab, as this will inform the design of XLZD. Although you will be based in London, the position will require regular travel to collaborators in the UK, Europe and in the USA.
You will help produce independent and original research within the Particle Physics Community, submit publications to conferences and refereed journals, and help with the administration of the Community.
You will engage in the research activities of the Community by working together with postgraduate students, other research associates and academics.
You will hold a PhD* in Particle Physics or have an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience.
