Considering making an application for this job Check all the details in this job description, and then click on Apply.Job Type: Full-Time.Starting Salary: £48056 - £49895 per annum plus benefitsTo find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the roleApplications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, funded by the EPSRC Mathematical Sciences Small Grant "Efficient nonparametric testing via dynamic trees".What you would be doingThe successful candidate will work closely with Dr Dean Bodenham at Imperial College on some aspects of the EPSRC Mathematical Sciences Small Grant "Efficient nonparametric testing via dynamic trees".This position is well-suited for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: two-sample testing, changepoint detection, nonparametric statistics, and missing data.What we are looking forThe essential requirements for this post are as follows:A PhD or equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience in statistics or closely related fields.Clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research, with a good publication record, commensurate with career stage.A broad and strong background in statisticsAbility to carry out original research and to produce published research papersAbility to identify, develop, and implement new concepts, techniques, and methods.Ability to organise own work independently.Ability to prioritise own work in response to deadlines.Ability to work with others, especially postdocs and graduate students.Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide range of people, and to communicate complex information clearly.What we can offer youThe opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity.Grow your career: Gain access to Imperial's sector-leading dedicated career support for researchers as well as opportunities for promotion and progressionSector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days off a year and generous pension schemes).Further informationThe position is fixed term for 12 months.
