Research Associate in the Development and Characterisation of Efficient and Stable Perovskite Devices

Publicerad 2024-10-16

A position exists for Research Associate/Research Assistant in the Development and Characterisation of Efficient and Stable Perovskite Devices.

The aim of the role is to work within a new Royal Society funded project focusing on fabricating and characterising perovskite devices. Advanced structural and spectroscopic characterization tools will be employed to investigate the perovskite devices in particular. We aim to unfold photophysical processes occurring within fully assembled devices while pushing power conversion efficiency and operational stability of perovskite devices.

As the position will be based within the Cavendish Laboratory, you will be taking advantage of state-of-the-art deposition and characterisation equipment across the West Cambridge campus including facilities within the Henry Royce Institute. You will have extensive expertise in materials science, device physics of perovskite semiconductors and application in solar cells. We anticipate that you will focus on:1. fabrication and characterization of solar cells and light-emitting device in addition to holding a good understanding of structural, morphological, and compositional characterization of solid-state materials. Experience in organic or hybrid materials and device fabrication is essential, including but not limited to, hybrid perovskite for solar cell or light-emitting device applications.2. experience in the advanced characterisation of materials and devices including optoelectronic and spectroscopic measurements is essential.

You must hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related area (or be close to completion). A proven track record of scientific publication and presentation at international conferences is essential. In addition to working independently, you should also work well in a team and help to promote a collaborative environment, interacting frequently with others in the team (Ph.D. students, PDRAs, and academic staff). Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are also required.

Appointment at research associate is dependent on having a PhD including those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD (in which case appointment will initially be made at research assistant - salary Grade 5, and amended to research associate - salary Grade 7 , when the PhD is awarded).

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2025 in the first instance.
