Research Associate/ Research Fellow in Qualitative Research

Publicerad 2024-09-18

We wish to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and self-motivated qualitative researcher to join the Digital Health Research Theme within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Greater Manchester (ARC-GM), based at The University of Manchester.

You will need excellent skills in qualitative research methods developed in health or social care settings and a keen interest and/or experience in digital health technologies research.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative interventions and ways of working in health and social care across Greater Manchester, with a focus on evaluating how the introduction of these impact on patients, carers and the health and social care workforce.

All evaluations will have both qualitative and quantitative components, with qualitative and quantitative researchers working closely together. The post holder will lead the qualitative aspects of the research. They will use observational and interview-based methods to understand how interventions are implemented in practice and the factors affecting their adoption, use, safety, and effectiveness, including their impact on decision-making processes and behaviour. Integral to the post is engagement with stakeholders in health and social care, including patients and members of the public.

The post-holder will be office-based at The University of Manchester campus on Oxford Road. However, hybrid working between home and the office can be discussed.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
  • We have a genuine commitment to equality of opportunity for our staff and students, and are proud to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve. As the School is committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area. All appointments will be made on merit.

Our University is positive about flexible working
