Job Overview
Murano UK LLP is seeking a Research Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role supports the Head of Research in driving investor research initiatives, managing client relationships, overseeing a team of Investor Analysts and upholding high standards and best practices across the investor research function of the business. You will be responsible for the development of the team and the quality and flow of the research reports delivered to clients.The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mind, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of investment markets.
The ideal candidate will be CFA qualified with at least 5 years of experience in a similar research role, or as an Investment/Portfolio Manager ideally within asset management or an investment consultancy. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role in a fast-paced and high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Investor Research & Analysis: Managing telephone outreach projects across 5 teams of Analysts, to provide insights on investment strategies and products, to match against our client needs.
- Capacity Queries: Manage and resolve capacity-related queries, to ensure the company maintains a broad, diverse and serviceable client base. .
- Client Reviews & Support: Assist the Head of Research in preparing for and conducting client reviews, offering detailed research insights, additional colour and sentiment relevant to the client’s strategy.
- Market Sentiment & Investor Sentiment: Gather and interpret investor sentiment and market trends, providing key data to influence decision-making processes.
- Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the sales team, offering research-driven insights to support the sales process and enhance client engagement.
Team Leadership & Oversight
- Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Investor Analysts, ensuring the team produces high-quality, timely investor reports.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and performance feedback in basic telephone-based outreach and report writing, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.
- Quality Control: Oversee the research output and CRM use of the team, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and the highest standards in all reports delivered to clients.
Qualifications & Experience
- CFA Qualified: Technical knowledge related to funds, asset classes and fund strategies whether in hedge funds, mutual funds, private markets or other strategies is essential for this role.
- 5+ Years of Experience: Demonstrable experience in investment research within asset management, consultancy, or a similar environment.
- Outbound Phone Research: Proven track record of performing in an outbound phone based sales or research role in which client servicing is important to success.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record in managing and developing teams, with strong coaching and performance management skills.
- Analytical Expertise: Deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and client servicing needs.
- Client Focused: Ability to build relationships with clients, providing clear, insightful, and actionable research.
- Experience of supervising trained interns or new graduates
