The Research Manager is responsible for liaising with Contract Research Organizations (CRO), the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials and research projects. They oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of multiple research projects and report directly to the Research Director. This role involves providing comprehensive updates on budget management, research outcomes, and regulatory compliance to ensure that all projects meet the highest standards.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Research Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a consistent flow of clinical trials by actively engaging with stakeholders. This includes coordinating meetings, facilitating communication between different parties, and resolving any issues that may arise during the course of the research. They also work closely with the finance team to manage project funding and ensure that financial resources are allocated appropriately. Furthermore, the Research Manager is involved in the dissemination of research findings, ensuring that results are shared with the relevant scientific community and stakeholders.

Overall, the Research Manager is a key figure in the research process, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and compliance.

Requirements

·         Coordinate and manage research projects from inception to completion: This involves developing project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure that research activities are executed efficiently and effectively.

·         Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure research objectives are met: This includes maintaining strong relationships with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and other key partners to facilitate smooth project execution and communication.

·         Prepare and present research reports and findings to senior management: The role requires the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise reports and presentations that effectively communicate research outcomes and recommendations to leadership.

·         Stay updated with the latest research trends and technologies to enhance research capabilities: The Research Manager must continuously seek out new methodologies, tools, and technologies to improve research practices and outcomes.

·         Ensure regulatory compliance and ethical standards are maintained: This involves staying abreast of relevant regulations and guidelines, ensuring that all research activities adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

·         Disseminate research findings to the scientific community and stakeholders: The Research Manager is responsible for ensuring that research results are shared through appropriate channels, including publications, conferences, and stakeholder communications.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience 

·         A degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Social Sciences.

·         Proven experience in managing research projects and teams.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills.
