We are working with a pioneering technology company to identify a Research Manager who will lead and shape next-generation projects in video compression, data processing, and AI-driven solutions.
About the Role
As the Research Manager, you will oversee a team of highly skilled researchers, driving the development of advanced compression algorithms and AI technologies. You will ensure that research outputs deliver meaningful impact and integrate seamlessly into real-world applications across industries, including media, gaming, aerospace, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Research Group, ensuring timely delivery of projects and fostering team performance.
- Design and optimize algorithms for data and video compression systems, balancing innovation with practicality.
- Actively mentor and develop team members, conducting reviews, setting objectives, and providing feedback.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align research outcomes with strategic goals.
- Document research findings, contribute to intellectual property (IP) development, and produce technical reports or white papers.
- Continuously improve research processes, driving efficiency, quality, and innovation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in video and data compression technologies, including lossy/lossless methods, quality metrics, and color spaces.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for algorithm development and prototyping.
- Experience with parallel processing programming and system optimization.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to create technical documentation.
