Intitulé du poste

Researcher in Organic Synthesis (postdoc position) H/F

Contexte du poste :

This work will be carried out in collaboration between Prof Janine COSSY (ESPCI Paris) and SEQENS (Dr Julien BOUTET. Sandrine GAUTHIER, Dr Pierre GILLES)

Principales missions :

Development of Ene-REDuctases (ERED)-catalyzed reactions for the synthesis of bioactive compounds.

  • Initially, the candidate will spend few days at the R&D center in Nîmes (dedicated to biocatalysis) to get trained on the use of enzymes in organic chemistry. During the training, a screening of hundreds of ERED will be performed on model reactions to identify active and selective enzymes.
  • Then, with the active enzymes in hand, the candidate will develop a methodology of synthesis. The optimization of reactions conditions will be handled on a robotic platform (HTE High Throughput Experimentation and HTS High Throughput Screening) ensuring a fast and fine tuning of all the key parameters of the reactions. The reactions will be exemplified to several structures to address asymmetric synthesis of precursors of API.
  • Les atouts pour réussir :

  • PhD (or equivalent experience) in chemistry and have a good background in organic chemistry,
  • If possible, with an experience in enantioselective reactions, multistep synthesis of complex molecules and ideally in catalysis.
  • Familiar with the separation techniques, analytical methods (NMR, IR,UV, LC, GC, mass spectrometry ...)
  • Interest in new technologies like automatization of reactions, work at the interface of chemistry and biology.
  • Fluent in english and have the ability to work within a team and have good communication skills.
  • If you are interested, please include a cover letter, a CV, and two letters of recommendation with your application.
